Hawzah News Agency- The security chief of Iraq's Hezbollah Brigades, Abu Mujahid al-Assaf, has issued a statement calling on parliamentarians to rein in the US and British ambassadors and prevent their "shameless interference" in the country's internal affairs, while declaring readiness to purchase arms from factions opting to hand over their weapons to the state.
The full text of the statement follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
"Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in rows, as if they were a solid structure."
In line with the concepts of this noble verse, we declare the following:
First: We call on members of parliament to rein in the ambassadors of the United States and Britain and prevent their shameful interference in the internal affairs of the country.
Second: It is unacceptable for politicians to turn into mere tools for condemnation and denial in the face of every incident in the region, when we have heard no condemnation from them regarding aggressions that have targeted our soil—such as the incidents in al-Zubayr and al-Shalamcheh, resulting from direct bombardment from Kuwait, as well as the Saudi regime's aggression against Hashd al-Sha'abi positions, and Jordan's transformation into an advanced base for the Zionist regime to strike at the nation's sovereignty. We hope the concerned parties will demonstrate steadfastness and not fall prey to foreign deception.
"And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression."
Third: We welcome the move by brothers—outside the structure of the Islamic Resistance—who have decided to hand over their weapons to the state, an initiative aimed at confining arms exclusively to the government, bolstering internal security, stability, and peace, and safeguarding the achievements of the dear Iraqi nation. We recall that the duty today is a collective obligation, and we carry it out on behalf of the brothers who have chosen to step away from it. Should the need arise, we will support them and will not fall short.
We are prepared to play a role in facilitating and providing guidance between these groups and the Hashd al-Sha'abi command—as the body responsible for this dossier—including:
- Supervising the inventory, transfer, and secure storage of weapons.
- Receiving certain specialized weaponry that state agencies lack—such as drones, mobile missile platforms, and anti-armor systems—for which we are ready to pay.
- Participating in supporting the families of martyrs and the wounded from these groups, in addition to those fighters who will be rendered surplus to their needs.
Fourth: We affirm that we absolve ourselves of any group that has decided in the past or may decide in the future to abandon jihadi work and turn to other activities. That is their decision and their choice. We merely demand that they hand over their weapons to the state, as they are no longer participants in the Islamic Resistance activity, in accordance with what has been stated above.
